Wake Technical Community College Student Receives the Five Star Scholarship

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 3, 2008 - RALEIGH, NC- Five Star Staffing & Accounting Recruiters is proud to recognize Beverly Mangum, student at Wake Technical Community College, as the 2008 recipient of the Five Star Scholarship.  During a recent visit to the campus, firm Principals Donna Peery and Cindy Heath were welcomed by Dr. Stephen Scott, President of Wake Technical Community College, Mort Congleton, Executive Director of the Wake Tech Foundation, and Stephanie Lake, the Foundation’s Director of Development.

“Beverly is a stellar Office Systems Technology student who is also very conscientious,” says Lake. “Her instructors tell us that she was an administrative assistant for many years and her company went out of business.  She came to Wake Tech for job re-training so that she can get back into the work force.”

Mangum plans to graduate with an Associate in Applied Science degree and put her new office systems skills to good use in a rewarding position. “I am truly grateful,” says Mangum. “I sincerely thank Five Star Staffing & Accounting Recruiters for their generous heart toward helping non-traditional students with financial needs afford college.  This scholarship has helped me financially, and it has sparked a desire in me to help other non-traditional students when I resume my career.”

Five Star Staffing & Accounting Recruiters created the Five Star Scholarship in 2007.   “We wanted to create an outreach that would directly impact the educational environment in order to support future employees,” says Peery. “This year’s recipient certainly knows the importance of returning to the educational community to update her knowledge and skills in order to become a more valuable employee,” adds Heath.
