Tim Lawrence has been appointed Strategic Land Director at the Birmingham office of leading property agents Savills.
The classic car rallying enthusiast will work with landowners and developers to acquire and promote land for future development.
Tim, with 30 years property experience joins Edmund Street-based Savills from Taylor Wimpey where he was Managing Director for Strategic Land in the Midlands. He acknowledges that the changing market requires a different approach to development.
“The changes in the market have certainly resulted in a different emphasis being placed on what clients require,” he said.
“I will be working with clients who are seeking to improve their investment portfolios and advising them on the optimum value potential for sites, based on the most recent government policies.
“It is a demanding time that is being felt in all areas of the market but it also represents a great challenge and one that I am delighted to have been set.”
Tim was a land manager for Bryant Homes and progressed in 1996 to head the company’s Strategic Land department in a UK role. This was followed with a similar position after a merger with Taylor Woodrow, where he oversaw the firm’s 20,000 acre strategic portfolio. This included the Wichelstowe development in Swindon and Newcastle Great Park – two of the largest private sector developments in the UK.
