Dec. 2, 2008 - PRLog -- The music industry is changing.  No longer are upcoming artists doomed to sell their soul and suppress their creativity for the sake of marketable products and record sales.  In fact, in this age of information and technology, indie artists and labels are using their creativity to employ clever methods of creating and distributing their art and keeping the destiny of their careers in their own hands.

Underground recording artist D-O-E has spent the past year traveling across the country, collaborating with other artists in different states, and playing live shows in cities around the nation.  He scored a spot on the soundtrack to an upcoming indie film called Sweat.  He also did a number of online collaborations, including one with Harpsichoid from the U.K.  He actively promoted his releases on the web and earned some sales in Japan through the online retailer CD Baby.  In just one year, D-O-E marketed himself to the world and gained a global presence, on virtually no budget.  Literally, there were times when D-O-E sold just enough to make it to the next city broke.

D-O-E returned to his hometown area, the mid-Hudson Valley region of New York, to put time into building his independent label, Sykophunk Productions.  Meanwhile, another indie label, Khaos Records, was being formed in Florida by Ryan McClellan (of Jaded Eyez Entertainment, producer of Sweat) and Mike Black of Khaos Factory (another artist on the Sweat soundtrack).  It was only logical that these entities, already working on common projects, join forces rather than engage in a number-obsessed competition as major label acts might be forced to do.

Three Dimensions of Truth, D-O-E’s latest full-length album, will be released on Khaos Records on December 12, 2008.  The music on this disc reflects D-O-E’s classic sykophunk sound, underground hip hop influenced heavily by goth, industrial, electronica, and metal.  Also slated for upcoming release on Khaos Records are albums by Khaos Factory and Harpsichoid.  Sykophunk Productions has released one album from experimental electronica artist Dostah Shilailee, with two other albums ready for release in early 2009, as well as new albums from D-O-E and Triple Vision.  Between the two labels, there will probably be a release every month for the next year, with two separate staffs at work and a global network of dedicated support.
