Inside a riveting project committed from large European trucks producer, Capmac five years ago starts the development of a new generation or riveting guns dedicated to join complex shapes with big rivets (diam 17 mm in steel).
Sophisticated tools for design, high strength steel, high pressure hydraulic pumps (400 bars) and a deep technical experience in riveting, was the key factors for the success of Capmac in this field of applications.
Very important to consider is that every riveting gun will be designed in function of the specifics customers needs. Starting from a standard scheme, the shape of each gun is carried out taking into account the geometry of the parts to be assembled, the rivets material, the rivet geometry, the quality of riveting needed and also the type of application.
This last factor is very important to be considered because in some field applications, if a rivet is not correctly riveted or more is not in place, it becomes a big problem.
The main innovative solutions introduced by the Capmac riveting guns are: very small dimensions of the guns compared to the high level of the riveting forces (from 5 to 50 tons), quality check controls on board, riveting force control, simplified geometry compared to the existing ones and easiness of integration.
Capmac riveting guns, should be installed on robots arms, on a manipulators or suspended by mechanical suspension cables, to allow an operator to make the riveting process without efforts. Many are the field of applications, starting for trucks and vans cross-members, trucks and vans chassis riveting, industrial fan assembly, large size of roller bearing riveting and more.
