Surfers Paradise Junior Surf Life Saving has been thrown a $20,000 lifeline by local businessman Dudley Quinlivan.
According to club chairman Danny Jones, the donation by Dudley Quinlivan will fund a long-term junior development program for the famous surf club.
“Thanks to the generous support of our club by Dudley Quinlivan, we have embarked on a five year plan to teach and train our juniors and establish a safe swimming environment,”
“The money will also be used to provide future support for our up and coming teams and will be of enormous benefit to the Gold Coast community. Once again on behalf of all of the juniors in the club and the Junior Activities Committee, we cannot thank Dudley Quinlivan enough,” he said.
Dudley Quinlivan said that living on the coast in such a beautiful part of the world, it is essential that our young people know how to keep themselves safe on our beaches.
“With forty two kilometres of pristine beaches on the Gold Coast, many of them with tricky rips and undertows, supporting junior surf life savers is vital for the Gold Coast community. The number of tragic drownings here on the coast will only be stemmed through vigilant efforts by our volunteer surf lifesavers. The best way we can help is to support our juniors coming up through the ranks,” he said.
Club Chairman Danny Jones applauded the attitude of Dudley Quinlivan and asked that other local business follow the lead set by him.
