Dec. 2, 2008 - PRLog -- Gold Coast businessman Dudley Quinlivan recently donated more than half a dozen computers to Mudgeeraba State School.

The computers will be used by students at the school for everyday lessons in the Special Education Unit.

Dudley Quinlivan, father of four, said it was a pleasure to know that any donation of computers is of tremendous value to these special kids.

“I regard education as the right of everyone on the planet. Donations like this make such a difference to the lives of the special needs kids,” Mr Quinlivan said.

“When you see the looks on their faces and what it actually means to them, it brings a smile to your heart.”

Children attending the Mudgeeraba State School Special Education Unit have a variety of individual needs that take up extra resources. Teachers at the unit are grateful for any help that comes along.

Teachers said the donation of computers by Dudley Quinlivan has given the children a major boost in their capability to access information.

Prior to the computers arriving, kids from the Special Education Unit needed to share a computer between several of them. Now they will be able to set up on their own computer within the classroom.

Teachers and parents were delighted with the arrival of many more computers. “With such a high percentage of kids today being ‘tech-savvy’ it will open up a whole new world to them.”

Parents of the special needs kids at Mudgeeraba State School also expressed their personal thanks to Dudley Quinlivan for helping their kids in such a practical way.
