Tavine'ra Publishing President and CEO Tahiera Monique Brown, will participate in an Author’s Event, and will showcase their latest release, which is entitled “Hunger Pains in our Heads”, as well as the first release from the company, “Annihilator of Innocence”, at the Birmingham Public Library in downtown Birmingham, Alabama.
The event is scheduled from 11 am until 3 pm.
Hunger Pains in our Heads is written by 82-year old Mansel Philip McCleave, who resides in Siler City, North Carolina. Tahiera Monique Brown is the author of Annihilator of Innocence.
During the 1960’s Civil Rights Movement, weary Black Americans became fed up with mistreatment and sub par living standards. Demanding equal rights and justice, the student sit-in movement in Greensboro, North Carolina, became a vital part of Blacks making strides to become equal. McCleave describes in great detail the days leading up to the Woolworth Student Sit-In Movement, describing the hopes, fears, and pressure the people felt at the time. Hunger Pains in our Heads is a book that will spark lively discussion, critical debates, and in depth analysis of those events in many classrooms, religious institutions, and political forums.
Annihilator of Innocence is the memoir of author Tahiera Monique Brown. It is her true life story. This book chronicles her life, and her survival, from years of abuse and a myriad of challenging circumstances.
The event begins at 11 am on Friday, December 5 and will last until 3 pm. The Birmingham Public Library is located at 2100 Park Place, Birmingham, AL 35203. This event is being sponsored by The Friends of the Birmingham Public Library.
Mansel Philip McCleave is the second author to be released by the Tavine'ra Publishing Imprint.
