Dec. 1, 2008 - PRLog -- SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Karen D'Souza, the San Jose Mercury News theatre critic and blogger, shared her top picks for the holidays on “View from the Bay,”the San Francisco Bay Area ABC7 news (KGO TV) show

Among her top five family friendly, cool yule picks is Lunatique Fantastique’s WRAPPING PAPER CAPER, a mysterious holiday tale in which the packing materials take matters into their own, er... “hands.” In true private eye guise, a Bogart-esque “detective” follows a trail of styrofoam packing-peanuts and encounters a witty and wonder-filled cast of characters along the way, including an elegant wrapping-paper damsel in “dis-dress”, a cardboard-tube horse, a packing-box Zamboni and a cast of bread rolls, cutlery, linens and dishware that display extremely unusual table manners.

Karen raves that this is “puppetry like you’ve never seen before, it’s more like watching Live 3D animation.”  It’s the perfect show to spark creativity and inspire children to return home and make characters out of ordinary objects.  At about 45 minutes, the audience is able to stay after the show and create characters from holiday materials.

WRAPPING PAPER CAPER runs from December 7, 2008 through January 4, 2009.   All shows are at 3:30 pm on The Marsh Main Stage at 1062 Valencia Street, San Francisco, California. Directed by Jeff Raz, back from a successful tour with Cirque de Soleil and written by Jeff Raz and Liebe Wetzel.  For tickets, the public may call Brown Paper Tickets at  800-838-3006 or visit http://www.themarsh.org.
