Dec. 1, 2008 - PRLog -- The Atlanta Botanical Garden's Circle Members and Peachtree Hills Place members met last week at Peachtree Hills Place to celebrate the success of the past year for the Atlanta Botanical Garden, specifically for it's 2008 Garden of Eden Ball. Peachtree Hills Place members lent their support to the Atlanta Botanical Garden through the Presenting Sponsorship of the Ball earlier this fall. Peachtree Hills Place is an upscale residential community in Buckhead for people ages 55 and older seeking a secure, independent lifestyle. Many Peachtree Hills Place members personally support the Atlanta Botanical Garden, so the sponsorship was a natural fit. The event, for the Garden's upper level donors only, the Orchid, Magnolia and Arbor Circle members, was a cocktail party with food and beverages provided by Paul's Restaurant.

“We were very proud to sponsor this year's Garden of Eden Ball,” said E. Andrew (Andy) Isakson, managing partner of Isakson-Barnhart Co., founder and member of Peachtree Hills Place during the event. “Many of our members are long time supporters of the Garden and its mission of developing and maintaining plant collections for display, education, conservation and enjoyment, so this partnership just made sense.”

“The sponsorship was also a fit because of the conservation-centered decisions made throughout the development process at Peachtree Hills, including the preservation of 50 percent of the trees on our 23-acre site and the Site Smart program,” explained Isakson.

The Site Smart program is a four-hour certification program to use in training construction superintendents and equipment operators on the role of trees in the environment and best practices for tree preservation in partnership with the Chattahoochee Nature Center and the Georgia Forestry Commission. The certification course was implemented at Peachtree Hills Place when demolition began and is now available for use by contractors through the state. The program received the Grand Award for Outstanding Business for 2008 from the Georgia Urban Forest Council as well as recognition in this year's Keep Georgia Beautiful awards.

Hardin Construction, the lead general contractor for Peachtree Hills Place is also the contractor for the renovations currently underway at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and Mary Pat Matheson, Atlanta Botanical Garden Executive Director, recognized their conservation efforts at the Garden during the event.

“Hardin has had to maneuver through tight spaces and around narrow places to save the trees at the Garden during construction, and they have done a magnificent job at that, and we are very appreciative of the careful attention that has been paid throughout the process,” said Matheson.

When completed, Peachtree Hills Place, located in Buckhead in the heart of metro Atlanta, will include 274 independent residences – consisting of 266 villas and eight single-family homes – and 36 skilled nursing and memory care suites. Assisted living care will also be offered on site. All Peachtree Hills Place members will enjoy a full slate of amenities, on-site retail establishments, dining, full service spa, and fitness center.

Isakson Barnhart is Georgia’s developer of nationally recognized, award-winning residential communities for those age 55 and over. The company’s vision to provide amenity-rich, independent living for discerning adults was born out of the personal experiences of the family of Ed and Julia Isakson after their difficult search for a community that would provide an active lifestyle combined with on-site health care. This mission manifested itself in Park Springs, the company’s flagship property in Stone Mountain. Park Springs was nationally recognized by the 50+ Housing Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as the recipient of the 2005 Platinum Award for best large CCRC as well as the Gold Award for interior design. Now, Isakson Barnhart introduces another award-winning residential community in Peachtree Hills Place, named the best “On the Boards” large CCRC by the same group in 2006. Peachtree Hills Place and Park Springs are managed by Life Care Services LLC (LCS), a leader in senior living communities. LCS today serves more than 23,000 residents daily in over 80 communities nationwide. For more information about Peachtree Hills Place, visit www.peachtreehillsplace.com or call 404-467-4900.
