I realized that everything concerning my children depended on the sermon my life would preach. Each scripture would be written by the words I spoke, the experiences I encountered, and the circumstances I overcame. As each chapter unfolded, I was determined it would have a happy ending. My children's births were the Genesis and if Revelation was to end triumphantly, I would have to be their savior here on earth. ~ Cheryl Lacey Donovan.
"Our children are crying out for our love, our attention, and our help. There's a war going on and the spoils of this war are our children's hearts, minds, and souls. We can no longer afford to leave our parent responsibilities to others. We must become accountable to ourselves, our children, and our God. If not, we will continue to lose generations of children. Being a teen parent is no excuse," says author, inspirational speaker, and talk show host Cheryl Donovan.
Cheryl believes parent is a verb. It's something you do. Cheryl attributes her ability to raise her sons to God and her mother.
"My mother is a true Titus 2 woman. She taught my sister and I by example."
Cheryl's new book The Ministry of Motherhood (Peace in the Storm Publishing) discusses Cheryl's journey as a teen mother. It explores teen pregnancy, single parenting and domestic violence in a personal testimony of unrivaled transparency.
Sistah Confessions radio show will interview Cheryl and her Peace in the Storm label mate Jacqueline Moore Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 8pm EST.
