2008 marks the fourth straight year that Christian Music Review (CMR) has given away their entire annual library of review material provided to them by the major industry record labels. Like in years past, sign-up is open to the public with no cost to enter or to win. The last day for entry is December 31, 2008. The winner of the Ultimate Prize Pack Giveaway will be selected by random drawing and announced on the ChristianMusicReview.org website on January 1, 2009. CMR is a highly trafficked website that offers readers Christ-centered viewpoints concerning the music and message of today’s Christian artists and their releases. Four years ago, after walking away from a successful career in Christian radio for reasons of conscience, Jay Heilman set out to offer up a fresh, new perspective on contemporary Christian music. In 2004, Jay began ChristianMusicReview.org to discuss out loud the underlying messages of Christian songs being played over the airwaves. From his role in radio, Jay realized the impact that the music had, not only on his life, but in the lives of millions of other believers and non-believers.
For Jay, the soundtrack of his faith was personal and the medium itself was a ministry. Recognizing the power of song to draw souls to Christ, Jay Heilman (through his reviews) began challenging artists to raise the standard of their songwriting. Using a positive, constructive approach, Christian Music Reviews began encouraging Christian bands to exercise their God-given talents to further The Kingdom rather than playing it safe, becoming mired in self-oriented pursuits, or otherwise mimicking a lost, secular world.
Since 2004, ChristianMusicReview.org has expanded to include six additional writers. For the team at CMR, the 2008 Ultimate Prize Pack Giveaway is a way to give back to its readers and positively influence one more life for Christ.
