No stranger to the industry, Chris J. is an award winning and record breaking performer who has showcased his talents in front of audiences of millions. He’s been seen on BET’s 106th & Park Wild Out Wednesday, BET’s Access Granted, and has graced the stage with notable artists from all genres of music. He has opened up for tours such as The Urban CrossRoads R&B and Hip Hop tours. The R&B sensation has even made an impact in the athletic realm of entertainment by co headlining the Antonio Taver/Glenn Johnson pre-fight Extravaganza with Nick Cannon. In 2005 Chris J. became the first Memphis artist to perform at the Fed Ex Forum and was one of the top contestants for Gospel Dream.
When asked about his music and recent accomplishments Chris J. modestly states “Man, I thank God and remain humble and grateful everyday for where I’ve come from to where I am today. I make feel good music about everyday situations that people feel from beginning to end.” Chris J. is currently in the studio recording for his highly anticipated debut album. CHRIS J., born and raised in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee began his musical career as a singer, songwriter and producer at a young age. In 2007Chris J. was discovered by Ronell “Big Gates” Levatte after several successful performances on BET’s 106th & Parks Wild Out Wednesday competition series. Chris J. later signed to Big Gates Records in 2008 where he landed his first national placement on raptress Trina’s 4th album “Still Da Baddest” on the tantalizing song “I Got A Problem” feat. Plies and Chris J. Deemed “The future of R&B/Soul” for his sultry musical renditions and no stranger to hard work, Chris J. quickly landed his 2nd national feature that same year on label mate Plies first official single from his 3rd album “Da REAList” on the radio hit “Put It On Ya.” Chris J. is currently in the studio preparing for his first studio album on Big Gates Records slated for a 2009 release.
