“As one of the original innovators in doing schooling differently, EdisonLearning, with the addition of Provost Systems, is perhaps better equipped than any organization to help students succeed in a new world - where educators have complete freedom to innovate and do what is best for kids, and we are doing just that in Pennsylvania,”
Through Provost Systems Software, EdisonLearning is partnering with the major cyber charter school operators in Pennsylvania, including Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School and Achievement House Charter School.
Dr. Chubb noted, “In addition to our expansion into online education, EdisonLearning continues to partner with public school districts and educators in 120 schools nationwide, driving improvement in student achievement.”
Provost systems eAcademy is a comprehensive online system for managing day-to-day administrative and academic operations in a cyber school environment. Provost eAcademy includes a student information system, benchmarking and standards alignment systems, and a student and family portal to allow students to access courses and academic records, as well as online curriculum.
EdisonLearning and Provost also have a unique model for curriculum which will allow it to be used in multiple learning environments, from a fully online school to a hybrid instructional environment and can be customized for individualized extended learning opportunities. “We have 160 courses developed for grades 9-12, which are aligned to state standards, using rich multimedia content,” said Anthony Kim, President of Provost Systems. “All of our online courses leverage our assessment system and early warning system.”
“Learning is not confined to traditional school buildings, and too many students are being taught in classes very much like the ones their parents and even grandparents attended, not benefiting fully from new research, technology and advances in education,” Chubb said. “Today, we can provide Internet-based solutions that will accelerate the learning curve for all children and connect them in new and engaging ways with their teachers and communities.”
