Alan said, 'The demand has been a pleasant surprise, but it shouldn't have been really. This tour is a gem. It represents fantastic value for money at a time when we are all tightening our belts.' The tour is a seven night motorcycle holiday based around Castilla y Leon, Aragon and La Rioja. It takes in the city of Zaragoza and the fabulous mountains and countryside of the area. One of the highlights of the tour is the visit to El Monasterio de Piedra, with its fantastic grounds and history. This mountainous area is ideal for motorcycling.
The tour begins in Santander and clients have the option of using the ferry directly into Santander, or making their way through France. One idea would be to sail to Santander and return via a different route if time allows. Links to the ferry timetables are posted on the website. Alan has assured me that the company are willing to offer help with organizing travel to and from Santander. Alan has also emphasized to me that the tour is not a race and is designed to attract the more sensible riders amongst us. Having said that, great importance is put upon having a good time, and both Alan and Thoughtful Mark, who lead the tours personally, have a wonderful sense of humour.
The tours are backed up by a support vehicle so that motorcyclists really do enjoy that feeling of freedom. 'The thing about this particular tour', said Alan, 'is that, if you want to be on it, you will need to book early. There are only so many tours we can do in a year and still retain the personal touch. Of course I need to make a living, but I really do love doing these tours'.
