Art and design combine in fascinating new ways at AVANT GALLERY, and for this exhibit they’re also a bit NAUGHTY. This exciting new design gallery and showroom concept opens in the Miami DESIGN DISTRICT next week. Just in time for ART BASEL and DESIGN MIAMI, the collection on display and available for purchase will be an exclusive inventory of furniture accent pieces, lighting, sculpture, wall and floor décor, mixed media art, photography, and other unique and rare collectibles. “We’ve had a pretty scary year, so for this exhibition we’re going with pieces that will get people to think about the basics of feel-good humanity and what everyone always enjoys: sex. The year 2009 should be a naughty one and we’re catering to a clientele with that mind-set”, said founder Dmitry Prut. “For Valentine’s Day we’re having Part II, so this is a new beginning in more ways than one.”
A private reception will be held to mark the gallery’s opening on TUESDAY, DEC. 2, from 6 to 9 pm hosting approximately 300 VIPs, including interior designers, art collectors, art & design enthusiasts, developers and more, as they enjoy a funky mixed bar, passed around creative selection of hors d’oeuvres and sexy/progressive tunes from a surprise guest DJ.
