GAO Announces a New Fiber Optical Power Meter

Toronto, ON - GAO Tek Inc. (http://www.gaotek.com/) announces the release of its Optical Power Meter (GAO 800).  This new generation of high-performance optical network test meter uses the latest laser detection and precision processing technology. This optical power meter is particularly suited for optical network maintenance, equipment research and development.
There are four wavelength calibration points, (850nm, 980nm, 1310nm, 1550nm), to allow linear and non-linear tests. The device also has storage, with page up/down functions, for the recording of test results. It can be used to identify the optical fiber, test fiber loss accurately, check the fiber continuity and help evaluate the transmission quality of the fiber link in conjunction with a laser source. The well-designed instrument has a large LCD screen, yet is small, lightweight and portable.
GAO’s Fiber Optic Instrument provides the following features:
•   Adapter supports 2.5mm port (FC,ST, SC)  or 1.25mm port (LC, MU)
•   100 memory locations & record management
•   Low power indication
•   Auto shut off to save energy
•   LCD with backlit display
Functions
•   Relative power test in units of dB μW, dB and dBm.
•   Multi wavelength test
•   Absolute power test in units of dBm or μW
