Codenamed 'Geansai Gorm', this SEO contest is the brainchild of Damien Mulley (mulley.net)
Google.ie, previous to this contest had literally hundreds of search results indexed for the term 'geansai gorm' (Irish for 'blue jumper'). At the time of writing, just over three weeks later, it has a whooping 74,000 pages indexed.
Dozens of webmasters have entered with some even paying for ads to get a slice of the hype and hysteria around the event.
With exactly one week to go, it's shaping up to be a fast and furious end to what has been a long hard battle for many SEO's across the emerald isle.
One participant, Sean MacEntee of Geansai Gorm News* said, "It's been a long battle but a challenging and educational one too. Although there can only be one winner, i think all of us will come out of it having learned something".
The winner will revealed on December 1st.
