Etowah, NC – Peter R. Meyer, President of Medical Business Associates, has announced that Stephanie Feilmeier, Christal Heaton and Valree Augustine have recently joined the team at Medical Business Associates.

Feilmeier is responsible for handling insurance credentialing for new and existing clients, working in tandem with Client Service Representatives to ensure insurance checks are mailed to the correct addresses, ensuring the national NPI database is updated with new information, managing and controlling refunds for patients and insurance companies, and assisting in all customer service issues. Feilmeier attended Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, North Carolina where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in December of 2007. She has gained experience in a variety of professional positions including Associate Professional of Mental Health at Leaps and Bounds Therapeutic Solutions and Warranty Claims, Accounts Payable/Administrative Assistant at Mcnutt Service Group, Inc.
As a member of the Follow-Up team, Heaton is responsible for performing a variety of follow-up tasks including contacting insurance companies in a timely manner when claims are not paid or are inappropriately denied. In this role, Heaton is also responsible for providing feedback to other internal teams in an effort to prevent unnecessary claim follow-ups, and assisting in all customer service issues. Heaton attended Blue Ridge Community College in Hendersonville, North Carolina where she received an Associate’s degree in applied science business administration and a certificate in basic accounting in May of 2002. Prior to joining the team at Medical Business Associates, Heaton gained experience at Home Medical Systems, Friday’s Staffing, Penny Insurance and Workforce.
As a member of the Accounting Team, Augustine is responsible for preparing deposits for clients, posting Explanation of Benefits and payments to patients’ accounts, and assisting in all customer service issues. In this role, Augustine works closely with Medicare and Medicaid to resolve any payment issues. After attending University of Tennessee’s School of Nursing, Augustine gained over 30 years of experience in the medical field. More recently, Augustine served as a Practice Manager, Pharmacy Technician and Billing Clerk at Margaret R. Pardee Hospital, and a Medical Records Clerk, Site Supervisor and Practice Manager at Blue Ridge Community Health Services.
