UncleFootball.com has awarded student-athletes Morgan Fennell (Long Beach, CA), Chris Robinson (Elsie, MI), Dan Luntz (Croton, NY), and Ray Thomas (Dillon, SC) for their achievements during the 2008 football season.

Morgan Fennell of Long Beach Poly High School in Long Beach, CA has been chosen as UncleFootball.com’s national football Player of the Week for his outstanding play in the 2008 football season.  Three other student-athletes across the nation have been chosen based on their stellar performances in their respective regions – Chris Robinson of Ovid-Elsie High School in Elsie, MI is the Midwest Region Player of the Week, Dan Luntz of Croton-Harmon High School in Croton, NY is the East Player of the Week, and for the Southern region, Dillon Christian’s Ray Thomas of Dillon, SC.

Fennell, the senior quarterback for star-studded Long Beach Poly, has lead the Jackrabbits to another incredible season.  The Jackrabbits relied on Fennell’s strong arm and went to the air against the undefeated Compton Tarbabes, trouncing them by 27 points.  Long Beach Poly remains undefeated and is headed deep into the California State playoffs riding on the success of Fennell and the rest of his high-powered offense.  D-1 NCAA schools have heavily recruited Fennell and it is reported that he will be headed to the PAC-10.    Video highlights of the Jackrabbits win over Compton can be seen at UncleFootball.com by searching Fennell's name.

Elsea, Michigan’s tailback Chris Robinson scored an astounding five touchdowns and rushed for 346 yards in a semi-final game of the Michigan State Playoffs.  Robinson and his Ovid-Elsie Marauders are headed to Ford Field in Detroit, MI to battle for the State Championship.

Dan Luntz, the fullback for Croton, New York’s Tigers is part of yet another State Championship contender.  Luntz, along with quarterback Nick Mainiero, have helped lead the Tigers on the ground all season.  By tacking on two rushing touchdowns, Luntz helped spark Croton to another New York State Playoff victory with a 42-20 win in the semi-final contest.

Tailback Ray Thomas of the Dillon Christian Warriors (Dillon, SC) stood out in the South Carolina State Championship game with four touchdowns and 321 rushing yards.  The Warriors state championship is only the beginning for Dillon Christian since young Ray Thomas is only a sophomore.
