The Living Hour has announced the launch of its website LivingHour.org:
“We’ve chosen The Lord’s Prayer as the focal point of our organization and website, because we see the prayer as the Rosetta stone of the gospel of Christ,” says Pastor David, the founder of LivingHour.org, and an affiliate minister of the Progressive Christian Alliance. The Gospel books that accompany The Living Hour are described as a blend of old and new.
The NCG uses the Twentieth Century New Testament as the main source material for its edition. Subsequent edits were then made after careful consideration of The King James Bible and forms of modern English usage. The resulting text is expected to appeal to both new readers of the Gospels, as well as Christians well versed in the scripture. “The New Century Gospels take into account that many lines from the King James Bible have become part of our public consciousness,”
The LivingHour.org website welcomes Progressive Christians, Unitarian Christians, Quakers, Catholics, and people of all denominations and faiths. This all-inclusiveness reflects one of the major tenets of progressive Christianity:
