Keener Corporation fabricates new containers for U.S. Navy

The contract is a result of the United States Navy’s unique requirement for highly sensitive material disposal containers and Keener Corporations ability to manufacture complex products from uncommon metallic materials.

Mr. Gary Keener, President of Keener Corporation, stated, “We are extremely pleased to have received our latest major contract from the United States Navy, continuing Keener Corporations status as a Midwest leader of complex fabricated equipment.” Keener Corporation was awarded the contract 20 November for an undisclosed dollar figure. The nature and specifics of the storage containers are not available for general release.  

Keener Corporation’s flexibility and scalability are key factors when it comes to providing goods and services directly to the armed forces. “We leverage our laser and robotic technology to meet the various sensitive operational and strategic needs of our government customers. We buy more steel than most major fabrication corporations in the Midwest. This volume and our five separate fabrication and manufacturing facilities provide us with an almost unfair pricing advantage over our competition.”  Keener said.

Production of the storage and disposal containers began immediately upon notification of the awarded contract. The containers are specially designed to provide complete isolation and protection for extremely sensitive and delicate energy related materials. The grade and density of the material makes it extremely difficult to work with even with the latest laser, plasma, and robotic technologies.

Keener stated, “The sheer thickness of the material places this job outside the capabilities of most fabrication companies. Our effective and reliable production equipment and practices provides the United States Navy with products that meets the exact specifications required for the operational needs of the fleet. We are excited and proud to go forward with another Navy project.”

In the recent past Keener Corporation has supported the United Sates Navy with maintenance equipment for Nuclear Submarines and Combat Hovercraft.
