The internet is a big place, and while there are many deals, finding a great one is another matter. With the holidays coming up and the economy deteriorating, the quest for the best deal is now even more important.
3deals.com, a website specializing in providing information on online deals from large retailers, is gearing up for the holiday season. Deals featured on 3deals.com range from product markdowns, coupon codes to special promotions at a wide variety of online storefronts, including Amazon.com, Macys.com, OfficeDepot.com, and even Walmart.com. The company has gained 10 times more traffic compared to six months ago, according to Marketing Director Jennifer Wang.
"Our database is already extensive at the moment, and the program powering our website is constantly crawling retailers to find the best deals. When there is a huge price drop, or any new promotion, our program automatically publishes it on our website to ensure we are the first one announcing the deal," says Wang.
To further differentiate itself from its competition, http://www.3deals.com offers several features to facilitate customer research. The website's "Track Price" feature offers product price history charts and multiple store comparisons, allowing customers to easily determine whether the item of interest is really on "sale". With the Track Price feature customers can also sign up for the company's email notification service that informs them when an item drops to their desired price.
Although designed primarily as a resource for customers looking for the best bargains, 3deals.com is also used by some as a business tool or as a way to generate additional income. One such opportunity presented itself recently when the program detected a $1170 price mistake on Amazon.com: a$1,300 HP office printer retailed for only $130 due to a keying error. “Some of our users later told us that by buying and reselling that HP printer, they each made about $600 - $800 in reselling profits. With such a bad economy, we are actually seeing more and more people use our site to make money by buying some bargain items and reselling them on eBay or Craigslist,”
