Milton Chavis (Raleigh, NC/Queen City Prep Academy) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Buffalo and participate on the men's basketball team, according to head coach Reggie Witherspoon.
Chavis is a 6'5 swingman who plays for head coach Tony Taylor at Queen City Prep Academy in Concord, NC. He is averaging 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists this season. Last year he played for the national powerhouse Word of God Academy where he averaged 18 points per game. The Holy Rams finished the season 30-3 and ranked 19th in the nation.
“I am very excited for Milton. I am happy that Milton found a home, somewhere he can play basketball, grow and become a productive citizen. He has taken his life a step further and I am very proud of him. It is a major accomplish when a kid can earn a scholarship at a major school like the University of Buffalo. He will have an opportunity to not only compete on the basketball floor but also compete in the business world because of the high academic standards that an education from the University of Buffalo will afford him,” Coach Tony Taylor said.
"Milton is a hard-working, humble kid with a lot of athletic ability and we're excited to have him joining our program," Witherspoon said. "His background playing at such a high level at Word of God Academy and Queen City Prep will go a long way toward preparing him for success in the MAC."
