GasPredictor.com Announces Limited Subscription Availability

GasPredictor.com, a Web service that forecasts changes in retail gasoline prices, announces that its forecasts by e-mail will go to a strictly limited number of subscribers.

Nov. 21, 2008 - PRLog -- GasPredictor.com, a Web site providing short-term forecasts of changes in retail gasoline prices, announces that it will begin immediately to offer its forecasts via e-mail, and that the number of subscribers accepted will be limited to less than 2,500 in each geographic area.  Forecasts had been published on the Web site each afternoon about three hours after trading closed for gasoline futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), but they will now be distributed via e-mail first, and published on the Web site about five hours later.

Subscriptions to the national forecast, covering the entire contiguous United States, will also be restricted, but twice as many subscriptions will be issued for the national forecast as for any one area.  GasPredictor.com is working to fine-tune its forecasting algorithm for a number of local areas in the United States, and will offer subscriptions for each area as soon as the analysts are satisfied that they have a good track record for each location.

Forecasts will still be available on the Web site, but not until approximately eight hours after the close of NYMEX trading.  This will allow e-mail subscribers approximately five hours of exclusive access to this information each business day.

Chuck Bonner, founder of GasPredictor.com, described the reason for limiting the number of subscriptions issued.  "There are two reasons, really:  Giving the subscribers the advantage of exclusive knowledge, and ensuring that the number of people reacting to our predictions is small enough not to affect the retail price in their area."  Bonner continued, "We have fine-tuned our forecasting method so that it works pretty well, and we wouldn't want our own success to mess up our forecasts."  He was quick to add that although the staff at GasPredictor.com believe their forecasts are pretty accurate, they should not be regarded as absolutely reliable or as a basis for subscribers to make investment decisions.  "It's mostly all in fun, with the chance to save a few bucks a month."

Subscriptions are available exclusively through the Web site, at http://www.gaspredictor.com/SubscribeMain.htm.
