The District has been in the process of restructuring since April 2008. During the past seven months, in-depth systems research has indicated the need to establish more transparent operations, to reduce duplication of services, and to create a baseline from which to target performance. As stewards of public money and public trust, the District has set goals and objectives to perform its obligations to the community more openly, effectively, and efficiently.
As a result of an open and transparent request for proposals procedure, the District received a phenomenal number of proposals submitted in all service categories. The overwhelming response attests to the fact that service providers have returned to the area to address the region’s vital behavioral health needs.
The District has sent correspondence to all who submitted proposals and is now in negotiations with successful applicants. The District is actively working with each entity to develop scopes of service that concentrate on the behavioral health needs of the local community.
In all new contracts, performance measures and performance indicators will be documented. With the District’s increased quality assurance and contract monitoring procedures, area clients will receive the quality patient-centered care that they need.
