FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Andrew Curtiss has acheived two 2nd degree black belts in different martial arts, fought in national Karate tournaments, Authored a martial arts book and now competes professionally as a Mixed martial arts fighter. He relates his success to opportunity. Curtiss grew up poor in Upstate New York and was the the child of divorce. Although he had the drive and ambition, he didn't have the money to go to martial arts training. It was his drive and ambition however that got the attention of his martial arts instructors and the cadre at Cady's Adacemy of Martial Arts in Boonville New York. He was a dedicated student and was awarded a scholarship at the training center. Curtiss also attributes much of his training to free youth wrestling programs offered through the public school system. It was for these reasons that Andrew Curtiss wants to give back.
Andrew has recently put together a free interactive website on zoomshare titled freeselfdefense.zoomshare.com. This web site has several different pages pertaining to Martial arts and self-defense. The home page has information derived from several resources on the web about Martial arts, Combat sports, Self defense and more. There is also a videos page where Curtiss has taken video excerpts from several different Self-defense seminars that he has taught. There are basic martial arts technique video excerpts from DVDs he has put together for his own students. He also posted Mixed Martial Arts conditioning and training videos. These are actual videos that Curtiss put together from his own training to show his sponsors.
The website has information about the Combat Application Techniques system and his book Combat Application Techniques: Principles Of Destruction. There is also a contact page where anyone interested can contact Curtiss personally. Curtiss says this is his first step in giving back to the Martial arts and his teachers. He plans on updating the material as often as possible in the future, so as to always keep it fresh.
