Each morning, a cheery group of youngsters in southwest suburban Chicago learn and have fun at a day care center run by Benedictine sisters. The day care center is one aspect of a new website describing the Missionary Sisters of St. Benedict in Oak Forest, IL.
The 12-page website features the charism, or purpose, of the Benedictine order, as well as the history of the Missionary Sisters’ foundation in 1917 in Poland and arrival of a small group of sisters in Oak Forest in 2001. The website replaces a two-page site written in Polish.
The website states, “the sisters have remained faithful to this mission as teachers, educators, and care givers of children in need. We currently have 39 homes, or missions, located in Poland, Ukraine, Brazil, Ecuador, and the United States.” The motherhouse is in a suburb of Warsaw, Poland.
The website, at www.missionarysisosb.org, was designed by local web design firm TreeFrogClick, Inc., and features two slide shows and a four-page description of the Guardian Angels Preschool.
TreeFrogClick, at www.treefrogclick.com, offers website services to religious communities and small businesses.
