Maria Sanchez of Buenos Aires died Thursday morning at the Clinica Suizo Argentina after two weeks in intensive care. Ms. Sanchez suffered a staph infection resulting from a ruptured abdomen. Doctors theorize that this condition was the result of a toxic combination of antibiotics, caffeinated soda, and a viral infection. Sanchez was originally diagnosed with a cold and prescribed an antibiotic but since her infection turned out to be viral in nature the antibiotic destroyed the healthy bacterium that coats the stomach and esophagus wall. This, in combination with her consumption of soda resulted in the rupture that cost her life.
Ms. Sanchez’s symptom began as a nagging cough but within twenty four hours she had lost all control of her bowls and was running a fever of 106.2 degrees. Dr Hernandez, chief resident at the Clinica Suizo, offers this warning to those taking antibiotics to fight the common cold. “Use caution when taking these types of medications. The fungi used to create antibiotics when combined with the acid in soda can form a low grade sulfuric acid which will literally corrode your internal organs from the inside out.” He goes on the add “the Pharmaceutical industry has gone to great length to cover this up. If antibiotics were pulled it would cost the industry billions of dollars. This woman did not have to suffer this agonizing, messy death. She died because of greed pure and simple”
Ms. Sanchez will be laid to rest in a Satuday morning service at the Cementerio de la Recoleta. She leaves behind, her husband Eduardo, 6 children and 4 grandchildren.
