Horse Classifieds specialists, Think Horses are proud to announce that they have just successfully re-launched their free horse classifieds website. You can now sign up and sell your horse for free online.
To help you put together a more successful advert that sells, they have written a 7 point guide on how to photograph your horse to use in your horses for sale advert.
1: Use a digital camera - It might sound like a no brainer but you stand more chance of selling your horse if you use a digital camera to take a picture of your horse; sounds obvious but many people still think a low quality scanned image will do.
2: Focus on the horse – Many people shoot their horse with a splendid background. People don’t buy the view; they buy the horse so try to cut out all distractions.
3: Light – Try to shoot the picture on a sunny and bright day; summer is the perfect time as the light really improves the quality of your pictures.
4: Take a close up – Try and take a picture of the horse side on and as close as possible.
5: Include an action shot – If you are selling a show jumper use a photo of the horse jumping but if you can only use one image opt for a close up.
6: Shoot ‘as is’ – Don’t dress your horse up; when people are looking at horses for sale, they are buying the horse not what it’s wearing. Also by shooting the horse naked you don’t come off as trying to hide anything.
7: Frame the whole horse – When you are taking the picture you should try to include the entire horse in the picture. Don’t try to cut off anything – position the horse in the centre of the image.
