The LPEA rebate is $2 per watt for the total installed PV system up to $3000. Similarly, tax legislation passed on Oct. 3rd grants an eight-year extension of federal tax credits for solar energy, which offers a credit worth 30% of the system cost for PV and solar thermal systems.
SolarWorx is one of the first dozen or so firms nationwide to have a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) certified solar thermal technician on staff, as well as holding the NABCEP photovoltaic (PV) certification, thus lending credibility to the firm and making it a natural choice for LPEA’s criterion for approved systems. As a result, SolarWorx was selected by LPEA as the installer for the first solar project at a school in La Plata County at Bayfield Middle School this year.
