New Jersey Artist Offers Intimate Life Portraits
(November 18, 2008--Upper Montclair, New Jersey) A timeless female nude, immortalized in artwork throughout the ages, can now be commissioned by any woman who wants her own bit of immortality:
Dorian Vallejo, a classically trained and nationally celebrated portrait artist, is now accepting commissions for intimate life portraits. He is marketing the drawings after numerous requests from his customers. In the past few years, a handful of photographers have made tasteful intimate portraits their specialty. Until now, those seeking a professional portrait artist to take on such a project have had little luck in finding one who has both the competence and sensitivity to accomplish these commissions.
Vallejo's classic intimate life portraits, which are rendered either on location or during one sitting in his studio, are drawn in charcoal, pencil and/or sepia and accented with with color. The price for each unframed 8"-1/2" x 11" portrait, which includes a series of initial sketches as well as the completed work, is $1000. A portrait measuring 14x17 is $1500. Larger sizes are also available with prices upon request.
"The subjects I've worked with were delighted to have a classic nude portrait of themselves,"
The typical portrait is accomplished in approximately three hours. Vallejo prepares 10 to 15 simple initial sketches, which are then reviewed by the artist and his model in an effort to select a pose that is suitable for the final drawing. "I've never had a subject who wasn't delighted with the results," says Vallejo, whose work can be reviewed at www.DrawingsFromLife.com.
Each commission also comes with the artist’s guarantee of satisfaction so there’s no risk involved on behalf of the sitter. “If they love it when the project if completed, they pay,” says Vallejo. “If not, they’re free to walk away with no strings attached.”
Born in New York City on March 1, 1968, Dorian Vallejo's passion for drawing came at an early age. He attended Parsons School of Design and graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, where he studied with Steven Assael, Max Ginsburg and Irwin Greenberg. A full-time portrait painter, Dorian and his wife, the painter Liana Vallejo and their son, Dimitri, make their home in Upper Montclair, New Jersey.
