Schloss, a former IRS agent, is a member of the firm’s corporate, business law, and estate planning and tax practice groups where he focuses his practice on structuring complex business transactions to avoid the pitfalls of increasingly complex tax laws.
Schloss’ areas of practice include tax planning, representation of clients before the Internal Revenue Service and Michigan Department of Treasury with regard to examinations and collection matters, estate planning and business succession planning, probate, estate and trust administration, real estate and general representation of all types of business entities and the daily issues that affect them, including formation, governance issues, buy-sell agreements, acquisition and sale.
Prior to joining Hertz Schram, Schloss was a shareholder in the firm of Weisman, Young, Schloss & Ruemenapp, P.C., which he joined in 1982.
Schloss is a 1968 graduate of the University of Michigan majoring in economics and accounting and received his J.D. from the Detroit College of Law in 1973. He is a member of the Michigan and American Bar Associations and frequently lectures for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and professional groups.
He resides in West Bloomfield with his wife Iris.
