Chris (otherwise known as "Capt'n Chris") began his aviation experience at a local airport in Southern California. While working there for an FBO as a line service manager, he attended college classes at night and pursued his aviation ratings during the day. He went on to work as a flight instructor and graduated with a bachelor's degree in aviation administration. Chris then flew for a short time as a tour pilot before being hired with the airlines.
Chris has been a pilot for almost 20 years now and has over 8000 hours of flying experience, 10 years of that as a commercial airline pilot. He is presently a Captain with a major U.S. airline.
Chris has been involved in website design and maintenance since 1999, and formally owned a website design company as well as an integrated photography business. He started the PlaneMadness Podcast and PlaneMadness.com in May of 2007 as a hobby and something to productively occupy his overnights with the airline. Since then, it has grown into a regular destination for tens of thousands of monthly visitors and the podcast continues to see rapid growth on iTunes as well on many other podcast aggregators.
Chris is married and resides in Central California with his wife, two cats, several motorcycles and garage full of radio controlled airplanes.
“Capt’n Chris brings educational, provocative and stimulating insight from the prospective of a veteran airline Captain” said Jamie Till, Programming Director for Flight Line internet Radiotm. “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with him and provide his commentary and perspective to our world-wide listening audience”, Till added.
