When the cold wind blows and the snow begins falling, the quaint village of Milford is magically transformed into a winter wonderland filled with unique shops and restaurants.
“Milford is a beautiful downtown destination – especially during the holidays,” said Ann Barnette, executive director of the Milford Downtown Development Authority. “We invite visitors to come into the village and experience an old-fashioned Christmas celebration, all the while strolling Main Street looking for that perfect gift or a delicious bite to eat.”
During the evening, children will be able to enjoy live, reindeer frolicking in Center Street Park while parents sip complimentary hot chocolate and cider. The evening will also feature Santa Claus, who will be arriving at 6 p.m. to spread holiday cheer and take photos.
Local musicians, including the Milford High School Band and strolling carolers will walk the streets singing holiday songs, new and old. Visitors of the Open House are welcome to bring a canned/dry food donation for local nonprofit, Huron Valley Community Sharing. Upon donation, they will receive a candle that will light the way during the festive holiday caroling.
To top off the night, visitors can check out the unique shops and restaurants located downtown. Many stores will be open until 9 p.m. and will be offering special promotions and discounts to customers.
Customers can continue to save on cash after the Open House by picking up a complimentary Milford Downtown Development Authority Holiday Shopping Card at participating Milford businesses or online at www.meetmeinmilford.com. This card, available between Thanksgiving and Christmas, grants customers exclusive deals and promotional offerings for a variety of downtown Milford restaurants and retailers.
