Ever wonder what half-a-million Christmas lights would look like lit up all at once? Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm is the place to find out.
The holidays will kick off on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 6 p.m. with the first annual “Light the Night.” In all, 545,000 lights will soon be in place and ready to glow for the event, including the rooflines (200,000 lights), the historic pecan tree (120,000 lights and 100 large glowing, blue ornaments) and several trees located throughout the property (225,000 lights). “Light the Night” will be the official lighting of the month-long holiday display.
In keeping with its environmental philosophy and “green” commitment, Watters Creek is installing all LED lights, using less energy to provide plenty of holiday cheer.
“Green is certainly a color associated with the holiday season, but ‘green’ is also how we built and operate Watters Creek on a daily basis,” said Trademark Property Founding Partner Terry Montesi. “The LED lights do cost a bit more than the traditional bulbs, but it’s definitely the right way to go.
“All our events will be such a nice touch for the holiday season. They are festive and unique to Watters Creek and we hope they become great traditions for the community.”
Other holiday activities include horse-drawn carriage rides on weekends, visits with Santa and his reindeer, cookie decorating, live entertainment and more.
