I have devoted months of blood, sweat, toil and tears to this labor of love. I have practically lived like a Benedictine monk transcribing the gospels. That being said, with the tenuous times ahead of us, and our already busy schedules, time permitting, I hope you will dedicate a few moments to it.
My website currently contains over a hundred articles on fashion, retail, design, the art of visual merchandising and Pop-culture. I try to deconstruct the meaning of what constitutes being a gentleman in the age of technology, how clothing communicates, and delve into the complicated relationship between man and mannequins. On my site you can link to my photo gallery of mannequins, visit beautiful New York city store windows, and is punctuated with quintessential NY landmarks, many prosaic, and almost surprisingly pastoral. Like life, if you dig deep enough you are certain to find a few small treasures.
The Bespoken: For Gentleman is well written, and researched. Being in the fashion/retail industry for years, and recently transitioning to becoming an academic I pride myself on distinguishing his site as insightful and fun to read. Easy to navigate it's a go to source for fashion stylists, educators, retail merchants, lifestyle editors and lovers of fashion.
Further good news: my site launches concurrently with a feature article that I just penned for the inaugural issue of PD (Papier Doll) Magazine. My feature story is entitled "The Way we Wore", and is a homage to the life and work of Yves Saint Laurent. The issue may be difficult to find, but will appear online shortly at www.papierdoll.net. You can read about it on my site too.
Sincerely,
The Bespoken for Gentleman
