Angel Flight, Velvet Rope Vacations’ 2009 Designated Charity

PRLog (Press Release) – Nov 15, 2008 – Atlanta, GA – Velvet Rope Vacations (VRV), an Atlanta-based luxury travel firm is pleased to announce the selection of Angel Flight as one of their 2009 designated charities during its “Committed to a Cause” campaign. Angel Flight is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to removing the obstacle of transportation for individuals in medical and financial need.

With an integral role in providing worldwide, luxury travel services to Atlanta’s elite, the owners of Velvet Rope Vacations searched arduously for a relevant charity to designate as the beneficiary of its fundraising efforts.  “Our client lists includes some of the most illustrious names in business, sports, entertainment and politics.  We wanted to find a way to use these connections and our passion for travel to give back to those less fortunate and make a difference in our community,” stated Crystal Clark, Owner/Partner of Velvet Rope Vacations.  When we came across Angel Flight, a group of volunteer pilots who donate their time and personal aircraft to fly patients to distant medical facilities, deliver supplies to disaster areas and reunite families during desperate times, we knew our search was over.  

In the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Angel Flight’s group of pilots flew over 450 relief missions to deliver life sustaining supplies, medical equipment, and volunteer personnel into some of the hardest hit areas of the disaster.  They were also instrumental in the 9-11-01 relief efforts by transporting disaster relief workers, firefighters, mental health workers, Red Cross personnel and FBI agents to NY and DC when all commercial air traffic was grounded.  Simply put, the organization responds to crises on a personal level to help people get the assistance they need.  Their existence heavily relies on private and corporate donations and Velvet Rope Vacations plans to be an instrumental resource, committed to their cause.

In the coming year, VRV will host numerous events around the metro area designed to provide Atlantans with a local extension of their luxurious travel services.  The scale of these events will include silent auctions, themed soirees, travel club events and other initiatives that will assist the company in raising funds and awareness of Angel Flight’s mission. VRV has already begun to receive sponsorship applications for their first event scheduled for February 2009.
