President Elect Barack Obama achieved this historic victory through the work of millions of supporters and volunteers for over 20 months. As Obama would tell you himself, it was not his victory, it was our victory. One Indiana volunteer, a Republican for 27 years, Chuck Lasker, has been covered by media internationally from Brazil to Japan for his "Republican for Obama" stance. As a graphic artist, Lasker wanted to commemorate this success with special Yes We Did! designs and is using the funds for The Obama '08 Historical Archive Project at http://www.obama08.org.
The Obama '08 Historical Archive Project, set to launch December 1st, 2008, allows anyone to upload their photos, videos, music and personal experiences to create a massive "scrap book" of Obama's campaign from primary to victory. This community-powered archive will allow a natural history, unedited, of what happened "on the ground" during the campaign. Lasker says, "I don't know how this will turn out. That's up to the contributors. I am just as curious as everyone else what people will put together." The only content that will be removed by moderators is anti-Obama smears that might occassionally be added by Internet trolls (http://en.wikipedia.org/
To support the expenses of this project, Lasker has taken his Yes We Did! designs and set up a CafePress online shop at http://www.cafepress.com/
Until December 1st, people can sign up for status updates at http://www.obama08.org. After launch, contributors can sign up at no cost and create personal pages they will be able to show their children and grandchildren.
About CafePress: CafePress is a community of 6.5 million members, where folks from all walks of life gather online to create, sell, and buy T-Shirts and other "print-on-demand"
