NEW YORK — Creator of the online magazine http://ChicGalleria.com, Beth Anderson, joined forces with Project Runway’s Jack Mackenroth at the annual Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) gala Monday. Anderson volunteers for Mackenroth’s charitable initiative “Living Positive By Design (LPBD).”
The unlikely pairing – an Oklahoma elementary school teacher with an HIV-positive reality TV personality – in fact exemplifies one goal of LPBD: combating the stigma associated with the disease.
“Getting to know Jack has been such a wonderful experience,”
Anderson joined Mackenroth at Monday’s Fashion Forward event where he spoke to the gala-goers about his nationwide mission. As a person living with HIV for over 20 years, he is an example to others that a positive outlook and careful management of the disease makes for a better quality of life.
“The numbers of people affected by HIV are astounding and the fight is far from over,” Anderson said of her experience at the event. “I salute and support the efforts of GMHC, and laud the unwavering commitment the fashion and design industries have dedicated to this struggle.”
Anderson will share her experience in New York – which included being complimented by fashion guru and Master of Ceremonies Tim Gunn on the red carpet as well as a sneak peak at the Spring/Summer ’09 collections of Betsey Johnson, Michael Bastian, Ports 1961 by Tia Cibani, Charles Nolan, Tim Hamilton and John Varvatos – in postings at ChicGalleria.com beginning today.
Showcasing the best of personal care, beauty and fashion must-have’s, http://ChicGalleria.com has a diverse and increasing readership. Featuring contributions from experts in their field, the magazine has sections dedicated to Women, Men, Parenting, Gourmet, and Wellness.
“We present valuable insight to our readers.” Anderson notes. “They are individuals and families who stay informed about not only the latest fashion trends, but also keep a keen eye on their personal health and well-being.”
