Dr. Thomas Fischer, the vice president and chief science officer at Entegrion, is scheduled to speak at the National Hemophilia Foundation’s 60th Annual Meeting, in Denver, CO. This conference will be held November 13 - 15 and is the largest yearly gathering of the hemophilia community. Dr. Fischer will discuss the proven effectiveness of Stasilon® versus standard-care gauze dressings for hemophiliacs as it relates to controlling blood loss.
Dr. Fischer is the inventor of Entegrion’s innovative hemostatic wound dressing, Stasilon®. Unlike absorbent cotton gauze, the combination of glass and bamboo used in the dressing’s fibers trigger the body’s natural mechanisms for hemorrhage control by rapidly constricting and clotting damaged blood vessels. Wounds become stabilized and blood loss is drastically reduced. The first application of the technology, Stasilon® - FR for first responders is cleared by the FDA for use by medical professionals under prescription and over-the-counter by consumers.
The National Hemophilia Foundation’s annual meeting is an opportunity to celebrate 60 years of dedicated efforts in education, advocacy and research on behalf of people and families with bleeding disorders. Dr. Fischer will be amongst NHF staff and board members, chapter and association leaders and volunteers, renowned healthcare providers and industry representatives.
