CALIFORNIA DANCE ACADEMY, THE WEST VALLEY'S PREMIER DANCE STUDIO,
PRESENTS HOLIDAY CLASSIC THE NUTCRACKER;
LOCAL DANCE STUDENTS OFFERED PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITY IN LARGE SCALE PRODUCTION
California Dance Academy (CDA) and its owners Robbin and Jennifer Shahani will continue the Rozann-Zimmerman Ballet Center tradition by offering the San Fernando Valley a local, professional level performance of The Nutcracker. This dance studio remains committed to allowing local families to enjoy this holiday classic and is offering family-friendly ticket pricing. The Madrid Theatre will host this year’s production for a limited engagement beginning December 6th, with performances continuing December 7th, 13th and 14th.
California Dance Academy is offering 60 of its students the opportunity to gain valuable experience by performing in this large-scale production of The Nutcracker. They will be performing in eight main shows, with matinees and evening performance each day. In addition they have invited over 450 students from six local elementary schools to enjoy two highly subsidized special showings. Many of California Dance Academy’s students have been awarded scholarships to prestigious national training programs such as San Francisco Ballet School, Miami City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and Pittsburgh Ballet.
CDA offered six boys scholarships this year to assist and encourage their participation in The Nutcracker, and has been pursuing local community outreach to encourage young dancers to pursue their dreams in dance. In addition, CDA is a Platinum Sponsor of Castlebay Lane Elementary School, where they recently performed and introduced students to the joy of dance at the October Family Fun Day.
