Nov. 13, 2008 - PRLog -- Costa Rica’s political system is based on the democratic republic and has the president as the chief of state. He is also the head of the government. Besides the president, the political system of the country has two vice presidents and a fifteen-member cabinet. The president and vice presidents along with the fifty-seven Legislative Assembly delegates are elected for the term of four years by popular vote .Ed Mercer; the humanitarian is domicile of this Costa Rican country that has two vice presidents.

Ed Mercer recently joined the Costa Rican’s president’s force to take the alliance new project, which is devoted to strengthen compassionate humanity, to new levels. Ed Mercer has proved himself to be a good example of the fact that money is not the only origin of happiness but what one does for the betterment of our society matters in the quest for eternal happiness, peace and tranquility. Despite humble street beginnings, Ed Mercer has proved himself to be a self-made man. He has proved himself to be a self-taught entrepreneur, and has become the best salesman in the world (earning $ 100,000 a month in his earlier years).

Ed Mercer is the best seller of swimming pools and has gained the position of the best contractor by his amazing business acumen. He entered into the land development business in Costa Rica amassing thousands of acres of breath taking land. Ed Mercer formed his real estate company that undertakes projects that are strictly environment friendly. By forming his real estate company he completed his dream of creating one stop shop organization that simplified the building and buying process for those who wished to purchase the real estate investment properties in Costa Rica.

A portion of every sale that is done by Ed Mercer’s company goes towards meeting the reforestation and the infrastructure challenge in the country, earning Ed Mercer the popular name, Mr. Costa Rica. When Ed Mercer came to Costa Rica he cordoned off one of the islands to seal the strategic points of poachers. Ed Mercer planted thousands of almonds trees and was inducted into the prestigious Environmental Hall of Fame in Los Angeles.

The Political system of Ed Mercer’s country is said to be the most stable in Central America. There are several provincial boundaries in Costa Rica for administrative purposes that are Alajuelo, Cartago, Guanacaste, Heredia, Limon, Puntarenas, and San Jose. The president and his cabinet exercise executive Power in Costa Rica. Legislative power in the Costa Rican country is vested in the legislative assembly. The judiciary of Costa Rica is independent of the executive and the legislature. Costa Rica is a republic that has a strong system of constitutional checks and balances.

The current leading political parties are Partido Liberacion Nacional (PLN, social democratic), Partido Accion Ciudadana ( PAC ,Reformist, largely but not exclusively left and center left), Partido Movimirnto  Libertario ( ML, libertarian) and the Partido Unida Social Cristiana (PUSC, Christian Democratic). There are some minor political parties in Costa Rica that has congressional representation which inclides Partido Restauracion Nacional (PRN, Christian), Partido Frente Amplio( FA , left), Partido Accesibilidad Sin Exclusion( PASE, fights for disabled people) and Partido Union Nacional( PUN ,center right).

In the year 2007, in April, the former PLN Presidential candidate of Costa Rica and CAFTA opponent Jose Miguel Corrales won a legal battle at the supreme Electoral Tribunal, which authorized him to gather over thousand signatures in order to Send CAFTA to a referendum and let the people decide the fate of the controversial agreement. On January 28,2008, when the deadline to approve or reject CAFTA loomed, Arias decided to call for the referendum himself. In the meanwhile, the Vice President Kevin Casa quit from his position due to a compromising memorandum. Like Ed Mercer, it is the responsibility of every Costa Rican and especially all the members of all the political parties to think about the country’s welfare much before they think of their own interests
