Tulamben is Bali's most famous diving location. Located on the North East coast of Bali, Tulamben receives very plankton-rich waters from the major oceanic currents in the area. These plankton-rich waters have created one of the most diverse regions on the planet. That is why, every year, a multitude of international photographers and videographers visit the area to dive their favorite dive sites and to explore for some new ones.
The dive sites in Tulamben vary immensely. The most popular dive sites are of course the USS Liberty Shipwreck, the drop off, Coral Gardens and Alamanda. However, the region is so diverse, and as yet relatively unexplored, that a number of new dive sites keep being found. Blue Season Bali is one of only a few dive operators who are aware of these new sites. "Seraya Secrets" has been quoted as being one of the best macro dive sites in South East Asia!
On our Blue Season Bali Tulamben diving day trip we will pick you up from your hotel in South Bali and transfer you to Tulamben. We travel through some very pretty Balinese countryside, seeing rice terraces, coastline, rural villages and Bali's most revered volcano, Mount Agung on our journey to Tulamben.

Tulamben Dive Sites
Liberty Wreck
The American ship USS Liberty is definitely Bali's most popular and accessible dive. This magnificent wreck from the Second World War is only a one minute swim from the shore. The wreck is covered in beautiful coral and is home to hundreds of different fish species. Located on black volcanic sand, she starts in about 5m of water and slopes down to 30m. She is about 120m long which makes her a pretty big wreck to dive. The wreck rarely experiences currents or swell so it is a great dive for all level of divers. A resident school of big eye jacks lives on and around the wreck. These fish are not scared of divers and will allow you to approach very close.
Drop Off
This dive site is located at the South end of Tulamben Bay. The easy shore entry allows you to walk in and then just swim along the black sand slope until you reach the drop off on the corner. The currents close to the wall attract all sorts of life. The wall itself is covered in coral, especially gorgonian fans. These fans are sometimes home to the pygmy seahorse. There is also a high probability that you will get some big fish action on this site. It is a good idea to keep an eye at into the blue as you might see manta's, hammerheads, dogtooth tuna and sometimes Mola Mola.
This quaint little reef lies in between the wreck and the drop off. It is only a small shallow reef but is extremely rich in coral and invertebrate life. It is a great place for photographers to get some good shots as it only lies in ten meters of water.
