The Data Governance and Stewardship Community of Practice (DGS-COP) will host a free interactive web event, 'Politics, Persuasion, and Data Governance,' Tuesday, November 18, 2008, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM EST. DGS-COP director, Susan Gonzalez, will moderate this discussion, which will focus on navigating the political landscape in the enterprise, as well as techniques for convincing stakeholders and stewards to 'get involved,' compete for resources in the enterprise, and attract executive attention.'
This will be an interactive session with chat and online slides as well as phone conversation and will be limited to 22 participants. The format does encourage participation by the attendees, however, if any participant would prefer for the moderator to pose a question/situation on their behalf, this will be fine.
This event is a continuation of the Data Governance and Stewardship Community of Practice 'Response to the Economy' policy, and will be free to attend for both community members and non-members. About the DGS-COP 'Response to the Economy' Policy
In recognition of recent economic events and their resultant effect on many corporate budgets, the Data Governance & Stewardship Community of Practice (DGS-COP) will allow non-members to attend members-only web events through November at no charge. DGS-COP strongly believes that temporary financial constraints affecting any organization budgets should not be a factor in continuing education and the proliferation of Data Governance best practices.
