Today, Cher Calvin, Maria Quiban Other Distinguished Women to Wear Lou Razon in a change of pace for the venerable Reflections fashion show on November 22, 2008, the FilAm community's most distinguished women will be sashaying down the runway wearing original Lou Razon creations in celebrating 20 years of this annual tradition.
Every year since 1988, Reflections has showcased professional models to present designer clothes but this year, organizers have decided to place the much deserved spotlight on the FilAm community's women trendsetters and fashionistas who have served as role models for their work and contribution to society.
Among those hand-picked by the Reflections committee to present the Lou Razon couture line are KTLA anchorwoman Cher Calvin, beauty queen and moviestar Shirley Gorospe, My13LA newswoman Maria Quiban, healthcare executive Emma Aldon, skincare and health wellness specialist Gandi Villareal, businesswoman Leila Aquino, businesswoman Brenda Santa Ana, actress and model Brendali Santa Ana, civic leader Lou Baron, skincare expert Estela Cottle, singer and actress Lou Sabas, skincare expert Olivia Quido, dermatologist Maridel Leviste, and real estate tycoon Angelique Gradney.
"These women are just as stylish all the while keeping demanding, thoughtful jobs. They are the real wearers of fine clothing. They contribute greatly to our community. Most of them are mothers and wives. They're all great at what they do. All of them are women of substance. They are what the Lou Razon Couture collection's about," says Reflections executive producer Monet Lu.
Designer Lou Razon has crafted a collection to match the unique and varied personalities of these women of distinction.
This the third time that Razon has clinched the opportunity to showcase her collection at a Reflections show. "Her creations speak to women who seek that certain stylish, dramatic, yet comfortable feel in what they're wearing," says an admirer of the Lou Razon line.
Razon's designs are known for their drama -- innovative cuts, silhouettes, bold, rich colors and the works. Her use of fabric is art in itself. She picks out only the best quality for functional purposes as well as luxurious comfort.
About Lou Razon
After ten years in the competitive world of haute couture, Razon's steady rise to success has its roots from childhood. At age six, Razon started dabbling with design due to her mother's influence.
At the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, she pursued Fine Arts and subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from the Assumption College.
Razon followed her design dreams here in L.A. and continued to extend her creative range with formal training from the California Design College.
This FilAm designer has definitely paid her dues. With her rigorous training and hands-on industry experience, she's very conscious about what her clients want. She specializes in custom designs that she says, "brings out your true beauty and identity, distinguishing you from nothing close to typical."
