Nov. 12, 2008 - PRLog -- (Palm Beach, Florida) -- The Palm Beach Show Group, producer of two of the nation’s top art, antique and jewelry shows, announced today the addition of the D.C. Spring Antiques Show to its 2009 show schedule.  The new Washington, D.C. show will take place March 6 through 9, 2009 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and will feature more than 300 international exhibitors showcasing an extensive selection of fine art, jewelry, and antiques.

The Palm Beach Show Group currently owns and operates the successful Baltimore Summer Antiques Show, one of the longest continuing annual events at the Baltimore Convention Center, and the annual Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show, widely recognized as the largest show of its kind in the United States.

Similar to its Palm Beach and Baltimore events, guests at the D.C. Spring Antiques Show will have the unique opportunity to view and purchase from the collections of hundreds of international dealers drawn from the United States, Canada, France, Italy, and England.  Showcased collections of fine art, sculpture, furniture, silver, textiles, bronze, antique and fine jewelry, objets d’art, porcelain, ceramics and pottery, watches, clocks, American folk art, Asian art and antiques, oriental carpets, art glass, other antiquities and 20th century design will line aisle after aisle at this inaugural event.

“The world of art and antiques is fascinating and compelling, evidenced by the substantial growth in interest from dealers and increased guest attendance at our Palm Beach and Baltimore shows,” said Scott Diament, co-owner and Chief Operating Officer of the Palm Beach Show Group.  “Given the wealth of arts and cultural attractions in Washington, D.C. as well as the number of residents and visitors who appreciate and value special collections, Washington, D.C. was a natural evolution for us.”

Each year thousands of knowledgeable private collectors, dealers, interior designers, museum curators, investors, and shoppers from across the country and around the world attend the Palm Beach and Baltimore shows.  A truly cultural experience, both shows also feature educational lecture series.  The lectures series includes presentations by well-known dealers and industry experts.

“The most effective way to bring collections to the public is in an environment that captures the essence of art and antiquities.  The Palm Beach Show Group has an unprecedented scope of knowledge and appreciation of this field which has allowed them to create first-class forums for dealers and guests,” said Albert Levy of A.B. Levy, Rare Antiques of the World, Inc.
