The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Westchester, the county’s largest, is offering a way to beat the cold by rejuvenating the body and mind. The Spa’s winter seasonal gem treatment, Ginger Warm-Up, utilizes organic warming ingredients designed to increase circulation and energy.
Ginger Warm-Up begins with a gentle 10-minute foot polish of foaming sea salt scrub mixed with avocado and jojoba oils. After the skin is lightly exfoliated, the feet are smoothed with an “Alive Feet” lotion made with ginger, rosemary and cypress extracts, which increases peripheral circulation while aiding the body in detoxification. Pure ginger extracts work to ease aches and pains while reducing inflammation, calendula and geranium oils repair the surface of the skin from bruises and varicose veins, and ylang ylang calms the nervous system. Following the foot polish, the feet are placed in warm booties. This process hydrates and softens rough feet to leave the guest feeling invigorated and refreshed.
As the feet are warmed, a therapist starts a 55-minute full body massage with oil created with extracts of organic grapefruit, sweet orange, and ylang ylang. During the treatment, a Jasper stone is placed on the heart chakra. Jasper is the stone of power, perseverance, and grounding. Guests can take the stone home as a reminder of this invigorating experience.
