After her interview, Bob Taylor, president and co-founder of Taylor Guitars, shared a warm hug with Taylor and welcomed her back to the factory, commenting, “I feel a very special affinity for you, but not just because we share a name. When I was sixteen, I found my passion in making guitars and you found yours, too, at a very young age in singing and songwriting. We’ve been fans of yours since your dad called us six years ago and said, ‘You gotta listen to my daughter sing.’ Everything has happened to you that should have happened to you. Out of anywhere in the world for you to debut your new album, we are so excited to share this night with you and to welcome you back to the Taylor Guitars factory.”
Taylor and her band ended the night with a live, five-song set, through which the band played a multitude of Taylor guitars. Taylor played two of her own; the Swarovski crystal encrusted GS6 as seen on tour and in the video for the song, “Our Song” and the Presentation Series guitar; a GA body with an AA-grade Hawaiian Koa top with a Florentine cutaway. The set started with “White Horse,” a new release that was first debuted on this year’s season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy. The melody shook the crowd with its emotionally raw lyrics and deep chords. Next up was “Love Story” which peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was followed by the title song, “Fearless”
As fans left the venue, they were given the “red carpet treatment”, complete with an opportunity to “meet and greet” Taylor and have pictures taken with her.
