BOCA RATON, Fla. – Daszkal Bolton LLP, a certified public accounting firm headquartered in Boca Raton, announced today that they are sponsoring a food drive called Thanks-4-Giving to benefit needy people in the tri-county area. The food drive is being held in each of the firm’s three offices, including Boca Raton, Sunrise and Jupiter. The Daily Bread Food Bank will distribute the donated food to individuals and families in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties who need support, including needy children, elderly people, working poor, homeless people, people with AIDS, abused women and children, and people with disabilities.
Partner Michael Daszkal said, “The recession is hitting our community in ways that no one could foresee. Unfortunately, the number of families in need has risen dramatically in the past few months. So many have been displaced from their homes, lost their jobs, or are struggling to stay afloat. We want to help those who are less fortunate and rally support in our community to so the same. We have to help each other through these tough times. That’s what community is all about.” He added that the firm will be hosting a Toy Drive in the month of December.
Non-perishable grocery donations may be dropped off at any of Daszkal Bolton’s office locations through Monday, November 24th. The types of non-perishable food items that are needed and requested include:
• Peanut butter
• Tuna and canned meats
• Chunky soups
• Canned vegetables and fruit
• Fruit juices (plastic bottles only)
• Rice, Pasta and Beans
• Cereal
• Condiments (ketchup, mayo, etc)
• Sauces (spaghetti sauce, gravy, etc)
• Sides (stuffing, instant potatoes, etc.)
• Dessert (cake mixes, muffin mix, etc)
• Crackers
• Any other non-perishable dried or canned goods
• No glass containers, please!
