The Dinner Angel, a personal chef service in Gaithersburg, recently sponsored a Tea Party for the cancer patients and volunteers at H.O.P.E. (Help for Oncology Problems and Emotional Support). H.O.P.E. is an all-volunteer organization providing free support services to cancer patients and their families. Cheryl O’Hara, owner of The Dinner Angel, prepared and served the traditional High Tea complete with scones and clotted cream, tea sandwiches, shortbread, lemon cheesecakes, and chocolate tarts.
According to Suzanne Tischer, a member of H.O.P.E.’s Board of Directors, “The Tea Party was delightful. It gave our patients and volunteers an opportunity to relax together and enjoy some delicious treats.”
“This was a great opportunity to support such a wonderful organization, and show my appreciation for all of the hard work done by the volunteers. I hope that by giving the cancer patients an afternoon of relaxation I have helped to make their burden a little easier.” commented Ms. O’Hara. “Having lost a sister and brother-in-law to cancer, it was also a chance for me to give something back to the organization that has been so helpful to my family.”
The Dinner Angel is an in-home personal chef service offering customized meal planning and preparation, and is also available for dinner parties, cooking class parties, romantic dinners for two, and other special occasions.
